Getting In My Own Way

painting one Lemon Drop Love

If you’ve been following me, you may be wondering by now, “when is that shop of hers going to launch?” And the truth is, I’m not exactly sure yet.

Things haven’t been going as smoothly as I originally planned in my head. There have been quite a few hiccups along the way, and to be honest, I want to launch the shop with my very best products for you to enjoy. So there might be some extra pressure I’m putting on myself that could be stifling my progress (if I’m being totally truthful). Yes, me getting in my own way…

Kind of bums me out to admit that, maybe more than kind of. BUT I’m coming to grips with it.

So the good news is, I’ve been learning a lot about myself through this process of trial and error, and I do know that I’m bound and determined to give you something from my heart.

I haven’t disclosed much about what to expect from the shop, and I don’t want to say too much because I want it to be a surprise.

So thank you for your patience and support through my growth spurt, and hopefully when my art releases you’ll know they came from something special.

Here are some paintings from around the web that have been striking my fancy lately. There are so many talented people out there!

  1. Good for you for waiting. I think it’s better to put out something you love and are confident about than something you just feel eh about. And girl, I feel like I get in my own way constantly. It’s such a struggle. Glad I’m not alone in that.

Good luck! I hope things smooth out a little. :)

  2. Michelle says

I can’t wait til your shop opens!!!

  3. Lori says

Take your time, Jen! You can’t rush greatness. And when the right time comes, you will know it and you’ll be so motivated that nothing – not even yourself – can get in the way!

  4. I feel like I’m in the same boat. I’m making some big changes in my business, but I don’t want to announce or launch anything until everything is ready and finished.

It’s kind of like having a newborn baby. You wouldn’t take a week-old baby to the mall, right? No, you’ve got to let it grow until it can protect itself from outside forces (in the baby’s case germs, in your business’s case criticism or un-preparedness).

Everything will work out. In fact, your shop will be that much better because you waited! :)
