Lemon Drop Love has finally arrived! Spring is in the air, all the snow has melted and hopefully won’t come back until winter (fingers crossed). As the days go on, we’ll be shedding our layers of clothing and bringing out our spring dresses, cute tops and strappy shoes. The earthy flavors of spring will start to fill our noses and our stomachs. With all this great weather on the horizon, I have the feeling of hope and excitement of new things to come. This blog is something I have been looking forward to for a long time and I can’t wait to share and be a part of the blogging world.
To kick the season off right, it’s time for me to hunker down and master the perfect Lemon Drop Martini. I’ve always wanted to try and one-up the best lemon drop martini that I’ve ever had at Tutto Fresco, a favorite local restaurant of mine.
After several hours of deliberating, measuring, testing, tasting and more tasting…
The final recipe is (drum roll please):
Prep: Place martini glass in freezer 30 minutes ahead of time. Pour 1 cup of sugar on a plate (used for rim). Shake over ice:
- 3 parts Lemon Vodka (I prefer Absolute Citron)
- 1 part Triple Sec
- ¼ part fresh lime juice
- 1/8 tsp. sugar
Swipe the rim of the martini glass with a lemon, then wiggle the rim in the sugar. Garnish with a lemon slice.
Special instruction for the readers of Lemon Drop Love:Tips to help you achieve the “Ultimate Lemon Drop Martini”:
- Cut a lemon in half and use to top your shaker
- Substitute Patron Citronge for Triple Sec
- Don’t plan on driving anywhere
This martini isn’t too sweet and is perfectly refreshing. Enjoy!
