This post has been a long time coming. I actually redid my living room last year, but I promise it hasn’t changed since. There are still things on my to-do list to make it better and more inviting (curtains, and a mantel makeover).
See, we moved from Chicago to LA and I attempted to use all the same furniture in our new LA apartment, in roughly the same setup…and our living room is half the size.
It clearly didn’t work and I felt like our already small living room felt smaller with all our furniture in it. I just had no idea what to do…I almost felt married to all the furniture, like I didn’t know how to see past it not being in the living room (weird, i know).
Caitlin was able to use a all of our original furniture because I was on a very tight budget. But as you can tell with some simple shifting/rearranging and most importantly getting rid of the stuff we absolutely didn’t need, our living room came out so much better.
Now it is open and bright with a much more inviting feel. And one of the best features, which was very important to me, was to add extra seating for company.
What do you think?
