How cute would it be to find this little puppy in your mailbox? Honestly, I don’t know what I would do other than hug and kiss it and feel my heart melt as I squeezed it close to my chest.
I know I didn’t send you a puppy in the mail, but I was so thrilled after I sent my newsletter out this week.
After I hit “send,” I was so excited for all my subscribers to receive the news about the blog launching, I stood up and did a little celebratory dance (not kidding).
But shortly after my Elaine-esque dance spasm, reality set in. I found myself thinking, “how am I going to keep this up? I’m going to have to come up with blog content AND fresh and interesting newsletter content…” I officially felt overwhelmed.
Fortunately, the following day I was scheduled to have my last workshop call with Jess, who has just been such an amazing support to me (more on that later). And after I expressed my dilemma to her she did not disappoint with her advice.
She simply asked: “why are you not going to put ALL of your interesting blog content on your BLOG?” I was like, “huh, I don’t know…I guess that doesn’t make any sense.” So Jess every-so-wisely said, “why don’t you use your blog for your blog content and your newsletter for all your shop updates and shop related topics?”
And BOOM, FLASH…a big huge light bulb went off. And I felt a little like “duh, Jen! Welcome to planet that-totally-makes-sense, why-didn’t-you-think-of-that?!”
But the good news is I’m new to all of this running-my-own-show stuff, so it’s okay to not have all the answers, and to figure this stuff out as I go.
So the newsletter update is: Change of plans, I will be using the newsletter for all shop related updates and content. So if you are looking for one in your inbox next week, please don’t be disappointed, you will get one soon. Promise, it will have top-secret, fun info inside. I hope to send it out sometime in March if everything goes as planned.
Thanks for your support and understanding!
