Lemon Drop Love // motto-lately

{my motto during these last few weeks of pregnancy}

Thankful For:

This blog is a lifestyle blog based on what is currently going on in my life, so I’m thankful for all the support while I post about my pregnancy and life changes. It’s fun to include you guys and I’m thankful people find joy in hearing about my journey. Plus it gives me an opportunity to get to know you, which is one of my favorite parts of having this little ol’ blog.

Breakfast food and soup are on my mind lately. Easy to eat, mild and tasty, are just what I need these days. Oh and if I have a cookie or something sweet, that would is totally fine by me. My sweet tooth is a little crazy. I never really had a sweet tooth until pregnancy, and I’m kind of hoping it tames down again post-pregnancy… YOWZA!

The other day I stumbled upon the show The Peoples Couch on Bravo. I turned it on in the background while I was working on something; I honestly didn’t know what to think about a show based on watching people watch TV.  But let me tell you, I was laughing so hard my belly hurt and my eyes were watering, and needless to say I didn’t get much work done.  Also, have you heard of the show Drunk History? I never had, but I guess it is about drunken people telling stories in history…it seemed hilariously entertaining (they were watching it on The Peoples Couch), so I’m thinking I need to find that show and watch it.

I little bit more calm about the very quickly approaching D-Day.  I’m ready to meet this sweet little pea inside me that’s been moving and a shaking. We have started going to the doctor every week and last week this little one was moving so much during our appointment that her heart rate was elevated, so I got hooked up to a very entertaining machine. Basically it had two discs, one to measure my contractions and the other that read her heart rate. I also had a little button (kind of like I was on a game show) that I had to push every time I felt her move. The point of all this was to try and find her resting heart rate, to be sure the placenta was still supplying enough oxygen to her. I was pushing that button like crazy, and those disks on my belly were moving all over because she was having a dance party in there. Finally after 40 minutes she finally started to slow down and rest. And her heart rate stabled and we were able to go home. It was all pretty cool to me. I loved seeing and hearing how when she moved her heart rate went up and when she slowed her heart rate sounded so calm, plus I was having contractions (the kind that don’t hurt) the entire time we were being monitored.

Thinking about:

Also at the appointment my blood pressure was slightly elevated (still in the normal range) just higher compared to what it usually has been for the last 8-months. I guess during the last month of pregnancy your blood pressure can easily spike and they want to monitor it closely, hence the weekly appointments. But after 40-minutes of waiting around for baby girl to calm down, my blood pressure was back in the low range. It’s just crazy how your body does stuff and it is completely out of your control. So fingers crossed it stays low/normal and we don’t have to deal with anything unexpected in the next few weeks.

I have a list of things I still need to get done before we have a third very little hungry, poopy, sleepy person in our house. Like getting the dogs groomed, packing my hospital bag, putting the car seat in, getting the carpet cleaned (I hate carpet for this reason), washing all her stuff (blankets and newborn clothes), etc.  I already started checking stuff off the list, but I’m just keeping my fingers crossed she doesn’t come any sooner than expected.

My bed and the cool weather these days. My bed makes my entire body feel relaxed every time I lay in it. I think a good mattress is totally necessary in life; it’s a game changer.  We got ours on overstock years ago, and totally swear by it. If you are looking for a mattress, check it out here. It is really starting to feel like fall here and post-pregnancy I’m really looking forward to wearing snuggly clothes again. Right now I am still too warm all the time for a cozy sweater.

Lots of talk about me, how are you? What are you thinking about these days? Thanks for stopping by!!! xo Jen
