WOW! With my track record over the last two weeks, I might want to start calling this post Friday Thoughts. I have been working diligently on my art shop. You can see the link on my sidebar to the left. It has been taking up a lot of my time, but it has been a long time coming. I honestly haven’t had the brain capacity to come up with creative blog content in addition to the work I have been doing. How do people do it?? For those of you that can keep up a flourishing blog, while building another large part of your business, I tip my hat to you!

Thanks for your patience, and I hope you enjoy some of my thoughts on this fine Friday!

Thankful for:

The women I have in my life.  They have all been such a support to me over the last 6 months and I feel so grateful for each and every one of them. They have been there to hear my thoughts, support me, keep my spirits high and share their invaluable knowledge that has been so helpful to me.

Eating:

I have always been a huge fan of breakfast sandwiches. I would say aside from my grandfather’s eggs benedict, it has been a regular breakfast request of mine since I was little. And every day for the last week, I have made myself one for breakfast. My usual order from childhood would be egg, sausage and cheese on an English muffin. For the last week I have had egg, pancetta and cheese on a toasted English muffin. And I must say, so good, tasty and satisfying. I have paired each sandwich with a glass of carrot juice and it is such a happy way to start my day!

Watching:

Have you ever seen the new show Leftovers on HBO? No, it isn’t a cooking show based on utilizing food from a previous meal, like you might think. It is a show based on a tragedy where random people from society (young and old) have been snatched up and disappeared into thin air. And in each episode we get to see how society is coping after such a confusing and dark time. I thought the show looked really interesting, and now that I have been watching it, there are things I like and other things that just make me angry. Yes, angry…hahah! I find myself saying things to the TV that little kid ears shouldn’t hear. Brian get’s a real kick out of these moments and laughs at me. Mostly I get upset at this group of people on the show. They are part of a cult that formed after the loss of so many people. Their beliefs, attitudes, constant smoking and dressing in all white…combined just get under my skin. Have you seen the show? What are your thoughts so far?

Feeling:

Excited! Our nursery furniture gets delivered tomorrow. I finally get to see how it will look in the room. And I’m really looking forward to getting everything organized and in its place. Right now the room has old furniture in it and piles of baby stuff. So it will be nice to start making it feel official over here.

Thinking About:

I think it might be time to get more maternity clothes. It is just too hot for pants and shorts are kind of out of the question for me these days. My thighs and booty have really become a non-sexy situation. I don’t think people need to see them all out in the open. So I’m hoping to find some maxi dress options that are flattering. Have you seen any you might suggest? I wish I had a maternity shopping buddy that could just point me in the right direction for clothes these days. I feel lost in the sea of maternity and non-maternity clothes.

Listening to:

On repeat, “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor. Ladies, if you haven’t heard this song, you must!! It gets you up and dancing, puts you in a good mood and it talks about embracing your body image.  I wrote about embracing your body image in this post, it can be a process sometimes, but I like anything that promotes self-love.

Reading:

All about setting up my shop for my paintings. With moving from LA, getting married and then getting pregnant, my plans for my shop got put off a little. So I am finally at a point where I am starting to take photos and set stuff up.  I have been filling my brain with processes, shipping costs, packaging, and business policies. So hopefully soon enough you guys will get more info about when my art will be launched.

Loving:

Lucky Legs lotion! Oh man, this stuff has been so nice to slather on my legs, arms and feet during these hot summer days. They get all nice and cool and tingly, which has been so nice and much needed!

Lots of talk about me, how are you? What are you thinking about these days? Thanks for stopping by!!! xo Jen
